Item number is an essential in Bollywood movies. During golden period of Hindi film industry cabaret (and Kawwali remember ‘Amar Akbar Anthoni’) entertained Indian viewers. In last decade of twentieth century item songs replaced cabaret and old fashioned songs. Now they are required everywhere even superstar can’t survive without them.
