Shakti Kapoor has no need to introduce himself. He is like an open book particularly after casting couch controversy in March 2005. He is born in Mumbai in a Punjabi family. However Shakti Kapoor began his career with villainous role in Hindi films subsequently he changed his track to comedian roles and got proper respect from critics even he earned 1995’s Filmfare Best Comedian Awards for David Dhawan’s film Raja Babu.

His daughter Shraddha Kapoor is also an actress while his son Siddhanth Kapoor is a DJ and assistant director. In March 2005, he was trapped in a sting operation coordinated by India TV in which he openly disclosed tradition of casting couch in the Bollywood. Meanwhile he had to face threats from film industry and he was banned by Association of Indian Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers but after one week he got relaxation.
